Morris Performing Arts Center
The Morris Performing Arts Center, South Bend Tribune and Sunny 101.5 are pleased to present the outdoor summer concert series, Fridays by the Fountain. Local Blues, Jazz, Rock, Latin and Country bands take 'the stage' in the plaza in front of the Morris Performing Arts Center during lunchtime on Fridays in June, July and August. The concerts are free and open to the public and run from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Downtown restaurants contract to sell food and they offer a variety of lunchtime favorites including pizza, sandwiches, salads and pasta, or you may choose to 'brown bag' it. Tables are set in and around the plaza to give the concertgoers a space to eat and rest and enjoy the festivities or you may opt to bring a blanket and relax on the lawn. Since 2001, Fridays by the Fountain has attracted a wide audience to the plaza. Local business people, young families and senior citizens alike have come to enjoy the free concerts, outdoor dining opportunities & the recently restored fountain. Local businesses have sponsored Fridays by the Fountain, showing their support for the community and for on-going downtown revitalization. Q: How are bands selected to play at Fridays by the Fountain? A: We are always in search of new local bands to play and we welcome any and all demos. If you're band is interested in performing, the following procedure must be followed:
